Those who know me personally have probably already heard about my feelings about the genre of dubstep. For a long time I was aware of it but dismissed it as an electronica fad, with the WOB-WOB bass sound effect as it's gimmick. I was proved wrong though, after a lot of searching and advice from friends I began finding dubstep that I enjoyed.

Vaski is a great example of a musically talented dubstep DJ. Many d-step DJs overuse the characteristic WOB-WOB to an annoying degree, never really taking their tracks to another level. Vaski sees the wobble as an instrument rather than a sound effect, and uses it to create music that sounds really dirty and cool in a genuine way.
Another key part that makes Vaski's stuff so enjoyable is that he breaks out of the ridiculously predictable pattern that most dubstep seems to be stuck in (30 second buildup, then a hard wob drop). The quick change between the sharply contrasted buildup and drop is fun but it quickly becomes passé when you hear it in every song. This pattern is pretty much the expository essay of the dubstep world: undeniably effective but lacking creativity or innovation.

To much talk and not enough music? Have no fear theres a boat load of great stuff to listen to here:
Safe Or Sorry - Vaski Haha I love this track, if you've ever played the game Left 4 Dead you're gunna recognize the voice clips. Such a good use of the car alarm
Bail Out - Vaski Phenomenal, a very technical song
Zombie Apocalypse - Vaski A lot of Vaski's stuff has a zombie theme, his use of wobble is what really makes this song awesome
Get Down - Vaski This uses the buildup-drop combo but Vaski includes enough melody and complexity to keep it interesting

I do love my remixes too, and these are killer:
3 - Britney Spears (Vaski Remix) Even though I don't listen to Britney Spears I can't deny that the DJ who mixed "3" for her did an amazing job. Vaski really dubifys the hell out of it
Might Like You Better - Amanda Blank (Vaski Remix) Whats better for a dirty dubstep remix than Amanda Blank's "Might Like You Better"?
