Music on my Mind: 1

For this post I've selected a couple songs that have been on my mind for a while. I put them in a YouTube playlist to make listening easier.

Songs:

Kid Cudi - Day and Night (The Widdler's Dubstep remix)
I actually prefer this mixing to the original. It really captures the depressing theme of the song.

Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites
New Skrillex? Hell yeah. Hes now taken on Dubstep as a style and I'm not sure what to think about it. I kind of wanted him to stay with Electro since he was so good but theres no denying this track is off the hook. He's already proved hes not scared of genre hopping since coming out of his place in From First to Last. I wonder what he'l try out next?

Parov Stelar - Catgroove
The guy in the youtube video totally jams out to this track and its really fun to see haha. Awesome Swing-House

Siriusmo - Allthegirls
One of my favorite Siriusmo tracks

Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner - Animal Rights
When I first heard these two guys got together and mixed a track I didn't believe it, but its true. This got released very recently actually, and it totally rocks.

Netsky: Self Titled Album

I feel like I haven't posted nearly enough about Drum and Bass recently. Well Netsky is one of my favorites for sure (you might remember I posted "Smile" in my DnB post). He's signed with the British record company Hospital Records. If you like DnB and haven't checked out some of the Hospital mixes I highly recommend them: Click here for more information

Here are my four favorites from the album. If you want to buy it check it out on Netsky's Beatport page. If you haven't heard of it yet, www.beatport.com is the best site for hearing about new releases, buying hard to get songs, and just checking out all sorts of cool stuff.

Week of Electro Part 7: Felguk

So I first heard Felguk when I saw the promotional video for the Electric Daisy Carnival: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9u-vmk9iapQ and absolutely loved the song. I didn't look them up until recently though, when I heard Side By Side playing at a party this weekend and was blown away.

Felguk is a great way to finish up the Week of Electro since their style is pure Electro-House. A lot of their songs get progressive in a really fun way. Felguk is two guys from Brazil who have released quite a lot of songs considering how low under the radar they are. They inspired Neelix to dedicate an entire EP to remixes of their work.

Without further ado, the music!

Felguk - Side By Side

A rare use of vocals. It fits really well with the club feel
Felguk feat. Sporty-O - 2nite

Very groovy, very electro
Felguk - Do You Like A Bass

I love the balance of instruments here, especially the small use of dry electric bass
Felguk - All Night Long

And the remixes!----------------------------------

Daft Punk remix by a real professional? you bet
Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger (Felguk Remix)

Sick beat behind this, really gets you steppin
Soundpusher - Milk & Honey (Felguk Remix)

I love Disco House, I'l probably end up making a post about it soon
Neelix - Disco Decay (Felguk Remix)
